Research in Tourism
Research in Tourism lets the students experience a better way of appreciating research in the fields of tourism and hospitality management. It aims to guide the students in doing their research throughout the process as it involves crafting the research problem, doing literature review, evaluating the research design, and presenting and analyzing data. Lessons also include presenting the thesis and journal format in doing the research.
ABOUT THE AUTHORS
GRANT B. CORNELL
He is the current Vice President for Research, Extension, and International Affairs of the Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology. He teaches research at the Graduate School of the same institution. He has also taught at other premier universities offering Tourism and Hospitality Management courses, where he shared his experience in research. He is also part of the pioneering team that formed the Philippine Association of Researchers for Tourism and Hospitality, Inc. Dr. Cornell has also published articles in Scopus-indexed journals.
DARYL ACE V. CORNELL, PH.D.
He is an associate professor and the chief of the Center for Research Dissemination and Linkages at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines- Manila and a part-time faculty member at his alma mater, San Sebastian College-Recoletos, and in the graduate school program of the Lyceum of the Philippines University-Manila. He is also hailed as an adjunct faculty member of the University College Sedaya International (UCSI) University in Sarawak, Malaysia. He is the pioneer president of the Philippine Association of Researchers for Tourism and Hospitality (PARTH), Inc., and an associate member of the Division VIII (Social Sciences) of the National Research Council of the Philippines, Department of Science and Technology. Dr. Cornell is also an active researcher, a peer reviewer, a prolific author, a resource person, and a Certified Guest Service Professional in the academic field of tourism and hospitality.
JAME MONREN T. MERCADO
He is a faculty member of the Department of Tourism Management, College of Tourism and Hospitality Management, University of Santo Tomas-Manila. At the same university, he is a faculty research associate under the Research Center for Social Sciences and Education and an associate researcher at the Graduate School - Center for Conservation of Cultural Property and the Environment in the Tropics. He is currently a member of the board of directors of the Philippine Association of Researchers for Tourism and Hospitality (PARTH), Inc., and an associate member of the Division VIll (Social Sciences) of the National Research Council of the Philippines, Department of Science and Technology.
