Embracing the Teaching Profession orients pre-service teachers to the nature, moral purpose, and mission of the teaching profession. It explores the philosophical and ethical aspects, and the accountabilities of teachers in the practice of their profession within the context of national and global standards. Moreover, this book is responsive to outcomes-based education (OBE) through the provision of performance tasks and rubric evaluation in every chapter. It also presents the paradigm shift in teaching competency among Filipino teachers to the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST). Furthermore, it discusses the most recent educational reforms, issues, and policies in Philippine education that are essential in preparing pre-service teachers for the demands of teaching and learning in the 21st-century landscape.
