Compensation Administration

This textbook intends to familiarize students with the principles, concepts, processes, and structures of compensation administration, a major subject in Human Resource Development Management. The management of compensation and benefits needs sound principles to solve organizational problems and issues and make sound decisions. This textbook aims to give students a better perspective on this core human resource function by being student-friendly and easy to read and understand.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

CYNTHIA A. ZARATE, DBA

She obtained her Master of Business Administration from Ateneo de Manila University and her Doctor of Business Administration from Jose Rizal University. She took up a dual baccalaureate degree from St. Scholastica’s College: Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Guidance, and Counseling and Bachelor of Science in Commerce major in Marketing Management (cum laude). She has served in various capacities, such as research head, graduate school coordinator, club moderator, and full-time faculty member in college and the graduate school in various institutions, such as San Beda College- Manila, San Beda College-Alabang, Saint Francis of Assisi College, and University of Perpetual Help System-DALTA. Dr. Zarate has also gained more than 15 years of solid experience in various organizations, such as manufacturing, hotel-apartelle, and pharmaceutical, occupying key positions in human resource management, such as recruitment, personnel services, employee relations, and communications. She is the author of Organizational Behavior and Business Policy and Strategy, published by Rex Book Store, Inc. She spent five years in professional journalism and has written articles for the Philippine Daily Inquirer and the Philippine Tribune. Currently, she is a graduate school professor and a research adviser.
