ABOUT THE AUTHORS AND ABOUT THE COORDINATOR A COURSE MODULE FOR THE CONTEMPORARY WORLD
She is a human ecologist, an assistant professor at the Department of Social Development Services, and the associate dean of the College of Human Ecology, University of the Philippines-Los Baños. She is a candidate under the PhD in Human Ecology program of the Australian National University with her dissertation “Dynamics of Social-ecological Traps: The Case of Small-scale Fishers in the Philippines.” Her specialization is systems thinking, sustainability, environmental education, and capacity-building. She has been providing technical assistance on social development and sustainability projects supported by international development agencies like the World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB), Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), national and government organizations, and civil society groups. JENNIFER MARIE S. AMPARO She is a practicing physician specializing in Family and Community Medicine. She is an assistant professor of the Department of Human and Family Development Studies, College of Human Ecology, and serves as the reproductive health officer of the University of the Philippines-Los Baños (UPLB). She finished her Master of Science in Clinical Medicine - Family and Community Medicine at the College of Medicine, UP-Manila. Her expertise is in family medicine and sexual and reproductive health. She is a fellow of the Philippine Academy of Family Physicians with special interests in the fields of community-based adolescent and reproductive health and elderly care. TERI-MARIE P. LAUDE
ABOUT THE COORDINATOR
He finished his Master of Arts in Education and Doctor of Philosophy in Education major in Curriculum Studies at the University of the Philippines- Diliman. He also completed his Master of Education in Curriculum Development and did a postdoctoral study on Gifted Education in Science at Ehime University in Japan. As a scholar, he has done numerous research works and published articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals. He served as a professor of Curriculum Studies at the University of the Philippines-Diliman for nine years. He became a member of CHED’s Technical Committee for Educational Leadership and Foundations for four years. He received various scholarship grants, such as the Mombukagakusho Research Scholarship, JASSO Research Fellowship Grant, and JASSO Student Support Scholarship. He finished his Ph.D. with the ‘Academic Excellence Award’ for getting the highest general weighted average among all the doctoral graduates. He also received the prestigious Pi Gamma Mu Award for Academic Excellence in Social Sciences. He was also a member of the Phi Kappa Phi International Honor Society. Currently, he is a professor of Curriculum Development and Evaluation and Human Development Studies at the University of the Philippines-Los Baños. GREG TABIOS PAWILEN
