Abstract: This study aims to analyse the role of Qatari national press in covering the Shura Council elections that took place in October 2021, touching on the content of various media messages and the way in which the elections were covered. It also aims to analyse the news coverage through quantitative indicators that contribute to defining the dimensions of the research problem and provide sufficient data to answer its questions. Moreover, the study sheds light on the advantages of having a communication policy that is suitable for the coverage of elections during election campaigns and of public opinion in Qatar. The study uses the descriptive analytical method, combining the quantitative and qualitative methods to determine the role of the press in covering the elections and providing an analytical description of this role. It reveals facts of objective significance that answer questions related to the role of the print press and the extent of its impact in light of the wide spread of community journalism with its different interactive platforms.
