Rosemead Graduate School of Psychology Catalog: 1979-1980

STUDENT LOADS The normal full-time load for a Rosemead student is 12 to 15 hours per semester, but not less than 9 hours. Without the Advisor's approval, a student may not carry over 15 units in any semester except where the program itself dictates additional units. Part-time registration of less than 9 units is permitted only when a student has been admitted to candidacy. Rosemead does not admit part-time students to its degree programs. TRANSFER CREDIT Students in the masters program may, upon the approval of the Registrar, transfer up to 9 semester hours of applicable graduate-level courses in psychol ogy and/or 9 hours of applicable graduate-level courses in theology and Bible from an accredited graduate school or theological seminary. Doctoral students may transfer up to 30 semester hours of applicable graduate-level courses in psychology (including the 9 hours on the masters level) and/or up to 15 hours of theology and Bible applicable to Rosemead's program (including the 9 hours on the masters level) from an accredited graduate school or theological semi nary. Practicum credit in the amount equal to one Rosemead practicum of 3 hours may be transferred with the permission of the Director of Clinical Training. These hours will be counted toward the 30 hour transfer maximum. Practicum transfer credit will be granted only when it is shown as practicum on an official graduate transcript. Rosemead will not evaluate non-traditional learning or non-transcripted work experience for academic or practicum credit. When students wish to use transfer credit for a required course in the Rosemead curriculum, it is their responsibility to provide documentation assuring the equivalency of course content. Such documentation may include catalog descriptions, syllabi, and other supporting materials from the professor of record or department, as deemed necessary.

STATUS IN THE PROGRAM

FULL-TIME STUDENTS A student in active, full-time status must be registered each semester and carry a minimum of nine semester units. Internship and Dissertation (ABD) students are exempted from this requirement, as are those who have less than 9 hours left in their program. A normal course load is 12-15 hours. PART-TIME STUDENTS A student will not be admitted to a Rosemead graduate program on a part-time basis, i.e. with a course load of less than 9 hours. Extenuating circumstances, such as illness, may allow for reduction in course load and part-time status for continuing students only by approval of the Admissions and Academic Qualifications Committee and the Dean . Such students must submit a Petition for Change of Status (available from the Registrar's Office) .
