This mouthwatering and yummy recipe for brown butter maple and pecan cookies from Ella at Bake Well Being are sure to be a such big hit with all the family you will certainly be baking batch after batch!!
METHOD 1
BROWN BUTTER MAPLE & PECAN COOKIES
Brown the butter Gently melt the butter in a
small saucepan over a medium heat. Let it bubble softly until it turns golden and smells nutty. Take it off the heat and allow it to cool for 10-15 minutes. Mix the dough In a large bowl, stir together the brown sugar, caster sugar and maple syrup. Pour in the cooled butter and mix until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla and stir until combined. In a separate bowl, whisk together the our, bicarbonate of soda, baking powder and salt. Add this to the butter mixture and fold gently until just combined. Stir through the chopped pecans and white chocolate chips, if using.

Cover and chill the dough for 30 minutes.
Bake Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C fan). Line two baking trays with baking paper. Roll the dough into balls (about two tablespoons each) and place on to the trays, leaving space between them. Press a pecan half gently into the top of each one. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until lightly golden at the edges but still soft in the centre. Leave to cool on the tray for ve minutes before moving to a wire rack. Finish Drizzle with melted white chocolate and add a small pinch of aky sea salt, if you wish to.

For the cookies: 150g unsalted butter 120g light brown sugar 50g caster sugar 2 tbsp pure maple syrup 1 large egg 1 tsp vanilla extract 220g plain our ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda ½ tsp baking powder ½ tsp ne sea salt 100g pecans, roughly chopped 50g white chocolate chips (optional but lovely) For decoration: 12-14 whole pecan halves 60g white chocolate, melted
