R&M’s High-Density Closure

Reichle & De-Massari (R&M), is launching a high-density version of its SYNO dome closure. The company says the new SYNO S-500 splice closure (pictured) opens up additional options for network providers in terms of the expansion of hybrid fibre optic infrastructures. The outdoor splice closure offers twice the splice capacity of standard types, and supports single fibre and ribbon fibre cabling concurrently. The SYNO S-500 splice closure from R&M can accommodate a stack of up to eight ST-500 splice trays. Up to three splice holders can be used in each tray. The SYNO S-500 is suitable for aerial and underground cabling, and R&M recommends it in particular for regions in which FTTH infrastructures are to be increased quickly

and prepared for future applications. As an additional service, R&M offers customer-specific pre-termination. The six trays stacked on the SYNO S-500 can accommodate 432 single fibre or 2,592 ribbon fibre splices. The higher-density version SYNO S-500 HD version offers a third more capacity. R&M says network providers can freely combine the cabling and thus variably connect premises. The SYNO S-500 has eight cable entry bays for standard round

Xantaro has announced a new street cabinet solution that will allow altnets to extend high-speed internet connectivity for from environmental elements, less noise pollution and requiring less maintenance. Xantaro’s New Street Cabinet passive equipment and active equipment. Separate doors mean better organisation, fewer hazards and allow technicians to work on one component without disrupting others – reducing downtime and minimising the risk of impacting other network services during repairs. Xantaro’s solution uses a heat exchange, rather than an external air cooler – meaning better protection

communities across the UK in both rural and densely- populated urban areas. The street cabinet offers a turnkey solution that will support the altnets’ rollout of ultra-fast fibre- optic broadband across the country, in a secure, compact and cost-effective solution. With a single cabinet serving over 8,000 homes, altnets, including the likes of Upp Network and GoFibre, can extend the domains of their fibre network to residential properties and enterprises alike. Housing all active equipment in a compact size (1400(h) x 1575(w) x 775(d) [mm]), the cabinet has three doors offering secure separate access to power,
