Fun Facts - Shih Tzus were found in the year 1000 BC and in China’s Western neighborhood of Tibet. Shih Tzus need lots of activities before they go bonkers! They need sleep, walks, toys, friends, and cuddles! Toys are always needed because they need something to bite or chew on. Shih Tzus need at least 1-2 walks a day because they need exercise, you also never know when they need to go to the bathroom! They can get nervous for a thunderstorm or rain so they might need to go potty! Diet - The Shih Tzus diet is fascinating. They should get one cup of food a day. Some food that they cannot eat is chocolate because of caffeine. Caffeine can makes them very sick because caffeine can cause them to die. Avocado can make dogs sick, they can throw up or have a hard time digesting. Grapes and raisins can cause heart problems and can make them die. They don’t always die but there is a 75% chance. Eyesight and Hearing - Their eyesight is very very very good. It’s because when they hear something it usually alerts them to pay attention to their surroundings. The only colors they can see are green, blue and yellow. Now lets talk about their hearing. They can hear anything from thunderstorms to rain, to someone opening a bag of chips. Sleeping - Something Shih Tzus love is sleep! So when they are asleep they like their peace, but sleeping for the night they would love to come and love and snuggle you! Do not put them in a crate because they will be by themselves at bedtime. They can get nervous by themselves when there is rain or a thunderstorm! They feel very comfortable with their owners!
