A MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF YEAR 7
We have almost reached the end of a very successful term for our Year 7 students. The year group have settled into secondary school life extremely well and they have brought a lovely mix of enthusiasm and effort with them. This was reflected in our celebration assembly on Tuesday where we had the chance to review the term and acknowledge the wide range of success and progress displayed by our students. Special mention must go to Evie W (7SSH), Anoushka W (7FFR) and Isabela N (7SHU) who played us into the assembly with some lovely seasonal piano pieces! Thursday saw a festive combination of Christmas jumpers and Christmas lunches in the canteen. The purpose of this event was to raise money for Save The Children, if you would like to support our fundraiser please click here to donate. The Christmas theme continued with the final of the Lindt Christmas competition being judged on Thursday evening. The winners will be announced in our end of term magazine, so keep an eye out for when this is released! The house point competition has concluded for the term and congratulations go to Isobel F (7FFR) for topping our termly housepoint chart - a tremendous achievement! 7EST were the form group that received the most house points although they were pushed all the way by the other form groups. Looking ahead to the new term, please can I ask that parents / carers take this opportunity to refresh student stationery where required. Whiteboard pens and purple pens are frequently used in lessons and might need replenishing. We aim to deal with parental queries and concerns as swiftly as possible but please note that this can sometimes take up to 48 hours. Finally, it has been a delight to work with your children this term and I’m sure that they are weary after a long but hopefully rewarding term (I know I am!). I wish all of our students and their families a happy and restful Christmas. We return on Monday 8 January and this will be Week B.
