A strong team of dedicated individuals is the foundation of Riverside Mechanical’s success as the company celebrates 20 years in the trade. A family business founded by Executive Director Derek Brennan in 2005, it has since evolved into a leading mechanical and maintenance contractor led by Managing Director Anthony Ptohopoulos. With sustainable growth continuing over the last decade, Riverside Mechanical nowspans four construction teams, a maintenance division and BIM, engineering, estimating, procurement and purchasing departments. life balance, Riverside Mechanical operates a company Wellness Programme focused on health and physical fitness. Initiatives range from the Riverside Golf Society to away days attending events such as the Ladies’ Football Final at Croke Park. Health & Safety Manager Alan Bolton was named Unsung Hero at Ireland’s Plumbing & Heating Awards 2023 in recognition of his dedication to employee wellbeing. With the firm since 2018, Alan has brought real empathy and care for

everyone on the team to the role. A key driver of mental health initiatives, he has identified and implemented support for the team outside working hours, often serving as a counsellor to those around him. Alan has set up a Wellness at Work initiative, which involves gym subsidies and fresh fruit for all, as well as being the main force behind Riverside Mechanical’s Spectrum Life Health Programme. A robust Corporate Social Responsibility programme, meanwhile, includes donations and active participation in community activities from local charity days to supporting the Ronald McDonald House, Irish Cancer Society, St Francis Hospice and sponsoring Fighting Suicide boxing events. An Elite Athlete Support Programme has included partnership with Mona McSharry, who went on to achieve bronze in the 100m breaststroke at the 2024 Summer Olympics.

Riverside Mechanical has also supported Dundalk Institute of

Technology GAA sports scholarships, as well as St Oliver Plunket Eoghan Ruadh Hurling, Gael Scoil Bharra Camogie and St Joseph’s Stanhope Street School Soccer.
