National Forensic Mental Health Service Hospital, Portrane
Built to world-class standards, the accessible, multisport, multipurpose arena represents a flagship project for Riverside Mechanical. The facility comprises three arenas with the complex mechanical installation including IAAF- compliant banked hydraulic tracks, a building energy centre, media workrooms and a commentators’ room.
Reappointed as design-and- build M&E services contractor, the second phase of the project added world-class training facilities including a full-sized covered soccer pitch, half- size covered rugby pitch and changing rooms. To be used by international, club and county Gaelic, soccer and rugby teams, the phase also included an elite fitness and conditioning centre.
Completing an innovative mechanical services installation for the new 25,000sqm secure facility, designed to achieve BER A3, Riverside Mechanical’s scope of works included chilled water, an LPHW system, ventilation including AHU supply-and- extract fans, air conditioning, BMS, domestic water, a fire/ smoke safety system, chiller plant and water management systems.
Cherrywood TC2

The largest single urban development project in Ireland, set to house 25,000 people, Cherrywood TC2 comprises multiple blocks over eight levels with basement and sub-basement car parks plus commercial units. Riverside Mechanical installed soils & wastes; domestic water, gas services, mechanical ventilation and air, and fire protection services; automated controls and site services.
Delivered as part of a €250m government-funded project, the new 4,067sqm building includes classrooms, learning resource, admin spaces and workshops aimed at supporting practice-based learning. Adding capacity for 600 additional students, the scope of works carried out by Riverside Mechanical during the project included air- handling units and heat pumps.
The student accommodation features three 10-storey blocks, including a 290-seat auditorium, restaurant, retail units, gymnasium, meeting rooms and office accommodation. Multi plantrooms are situated at roof level, with services fed via riser service shafts. Representing one of its first uses in Ireland, Riverside Mechanical successfully implemented Level 2 BIM with asset register.
