USING REVIT TO MODEL AND DETAIL THE VENTILATION SYSTEMS, WHITEHOUSE ENGINEERING FACILITATED A SMOOTH INSTALLATION AND INTEGRATION WITH THE BUILDING STRUCTURE AND SERVICES… VENTILATION SYSTEMS
Whitehouse Engineering was subcontracted to supply, install and commission ventilation systems for the project, including the supply of all necessary plant items such as AHUs, MVHR units, fans, attenuators and air terminals. The project required the provision of heat recovery ventilation systems with heat boost capability for each of the classrooms and support areas, and extract air ventilation systems for ancillary areas. Also included in its scope of works were a dedicated AHU ventilation system, complete with controls for the hydrotherapy pool, and a supply-and- extract air system for the school meals kitchen. No major challenges emerged during the installation. Stephen Dawson, Managing Director,
said, “The ventilation systems were modelled and detailed for co-ordination, fabrication and installation in-house by the company using Revit, which enabled the ventilation systems to be integrated with the building structure and other services, facilitating a smooth and efficient installation phase for the project. “The company found it very gratifying to be involved in the construction of such an important education facility in the region. “Whitehouse Engineering has a long association with Scott & Ewing Ltd, having worked with them on numerous projects over the years. The company has established a good working relationship with Scott & Ewing and was delighted to work alongside them on this significant project.” Established in 1968 in Belfast, Whitehouse Engineering manufactures and installs
