SUPPLY OF VALVES A range of valves was supplied to the Dublin Simon Community by Co Wicklow-based Alma Engineering Supplies Ltd. As well as WRAS-approved ball valves, the business supplied commissioning valves, pressure gauges and thermostatic balancing valves, butterfly and plate check valves from suppliers Malgorani, Cimberio and Instantor. All products were supplied as specified without issues or challenges. Celebrating its 50 years of excellence in 2025, Alma Engineering Supplies provides fluid control and allied industries with a wide range of valves and actuators, ABS pipes, fittings, expansion joints and products for HVAC, process and pipeline services. Mi-Flues was appointed by Murphy & Kelly to design, manufacture and install a high-performance flue system for the project. Creating a bespoke header system with an increased diameter of 150mm to connect two condensing boilers, Mi-Flues used its System 21 twin-wall insulated flue, an ideal solution for high-efficiency condensing appliances. Due to the boilers’ positioning, the flue system was carefully engineered to capture and manage the condensate from both units, ensuring safe drainage and long-term system integrity. The installation was routed up through the building’s riser before terminating at roof level, where Mi-Flues fabricated custom stainless-steel flashing to guarantee a fully weather- proof finish.
