SOCIAL & CREATIVE ACTIVITIES Here at Desert Horizons our Members thrive on camaraderie, connecting with neighbors and togetherness. With many clubs and social activities, it’s easy to find a group of like-minded Members who enjoy the same things you do, designed to bring out your passion. Cards & Games Whether you’re a serious player or just looking to meet new friends for a casual game, there are many opportunities each week for cards and games like gin, duplicate bridge, mahjong, hand & foot, and bingo. Trivia Trivia is wildly popular here and the competition is fierce! Captains are assigned to teams that play from January 8 through April 9 in the Clubhouse. The Trivia Finals are scheduled for April 9, 2026 and the 1st place winning team gets their team’s name displayed on a trophy in the Clubhouse. Men’s Reading Club The Desert Horizons Men’s Reading Group meets the second Tuesday of each month, November through April in the club’s cardroom. No reservations are needed; just show up if you wish to participate — even if you have not read the book to be discussed for that month. Water is provided by the club. Contact Chris Clark for more information: cclark@wgclark.com. Great Decisions Group This is a foreign affairs discussion group based on topics in a book published by the Foreign Policy Association. We will meet again starting in January 2026. There will be eight one-hour meetings where we will watch a 20-minute video and then discuss the topic of the day based on a chapter in the book and the DVD. Bocce Join the Bocce Breve Tournaments in November and April, and the Prime Season Tournament January through March. Bocce Socials are scheduled once a month on Sundays, from November to March. Non-hosted cocktails and a small bites menu are available at the bar. Veteran’s Group Open to military and civilian men and women, this club meets in the cardroom on the third Tuesday of each month, January through April 2026.
