gling lad. By the time he had reached him they were only 15 feet from the brink of the high cataract. Catching hold of the boy’s shirt, he tried vainly to drag him to safety. The tremendous force of the angry current, however, was too much and both of them were swept over the roaring falls. They were instantly killed being dashed on the rocks some 325 feet below. Throw ing all caution to the wind, he had made a brave effort to save the lost boy. H e sacrificed his own life. Yet, even though strong, he was powerless to break the torrent’s surge. But, for the believer, how glad we can be for the One who was willing, and who gave His life to save others. H e alone is able to save all who come unto God by Him. Yes, in the Lord Jesus Christ there is no lack of willingness or abil ity. No torrent of sin is too mighty for His everlasting power. When you know the Saviour, greater is H e that is in you, than he (Satan) that is in the world. The Word of God tells us that when we receive the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour, we become saints of God. This is not some extended process by which we are pronounced more holy than others after our death. It is an immedi ate, joyous experience into which we enter through faith in Jesus Christ. A little country girl was attending a huge church for the first time. She was visiting her aunt and had never seen one of the large stone and marble edi fices which grace some of our larger cities. Her eyes seemed transfixed on the beautiful stained glass windows through which the sun poured its en trancing rays. She turned to her loved one and asked, “Auntie, who are those people in the windows?” The whisper came back, “Why, those are saints, dear.” As they left the church, the little girl tugged at her aunt’s hand and said with assurance, “Now ¡'know what saints are. They’re people who let the light shine through them.” How true she was. This is why the Bible a friend so that he may also enroll in the Plan and receive these helpful monthly features from the broadcasts.
