TYPE OF SERVICES: Tax-saving Engineering and Valuation Services Cost Recovery Solutions LLC (CRS) collaborates with commercial property owners and tenants to reduce their income taxes and maximize their return on investment. We specialize in cost segregation studies, energy tax services, tangible asset appraisals and fixed asset reviews. Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Tinton Falls, NJ, CRS has completed thousands of projects throughout the country, with clients ranging from local business owners to Fortune 500 companies. We’ve helped our clients save thousands to millions in income taxes within the retail, healthcare, hotel, banking, automotive, restaurant, recreation and manufacturing industries. Our favorite project in 2023 consisted of performing a cost segregation study for 189-room luxury hotel in south Florida purchased for $39M. This study was done to help recoup the extensive renovation costs performed to create a more high-end hotel experience. Significant exterior building and grounds improvements included a new roof, sidewalks, and parking lot repaving while replacing and adding a pool, patio, courtyard, pool bar, fountain and lounge areas. Interior improvements included new furniture, décor, carpets, wallpaper, guest bathroom renovations and construction of a new restaurant. Our study reallocated over 85% of the owner’s improvement costs to reduced depreciation schedules, enabling the owners to realize a total of almost $4.6 million in tax savings.
