navigate their academic and professional journeys with confidence and purpose. “Levine taught me the importance of passing on Jewish values,” Leon said. “It always felt like a second home. Many of my closest friends today are from my time at Levine — and now many of them are sending their kids here too.” Watching Rory walk happily into school each morning brings both nostalgia and pride. “It makes me emotional,” Leon admitted. “Seeing how much Rory loves his friends and the incredible teachers — it’s amazing how the same caring environment we remember hasn’t changed.” Members of both families were among Levine’s earliest graduates, and over a dozen relatives — including siblings, cousins, and nieces and nephews — have been part of the school community. But for the Jacobsons, the connection is about more than tradition. It’s about ensuring a strong Jewish future. “In a world where antisemitism is growing by the day, it’s critical that we have a Jewish day school where kids can feel proud of who they are,” Leon said. “I’m so grateful Rory is learning about our traditions and our people. Levine is a gem in our community — and we’re honored to be part of it.”
F or Leon and Alyssa (Lissy) Jacobson, Ann & Nate Levine Academy is more than a school — it’s home. Leon attended Levine from 1990 to 2003, and Lissy from 1989 to 2000. Today, their son Rory is continuing the family tradition as a student in our Early Childhood program.“It was an absolute no-brainer,” Leon shared. “The teachers, staff, and administration are so wonderful, and the atmosphere feels so warm and welcoming. Not only did Lissy and I attend Levine, but so did our siblings, nieces, and nephews. It was the easiest decision to make. Rory is absolutely loving the EC!” Levine’s impact on the Jacobsons spans generations. Leon, who holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and government from American University and an MBA from UT Dallas, is the CEO of Nerveli — a mobile app that provides an empathetic and interactive pain recovery assistant using gamified cognitive behavioral therapy, medical science, and machine learning. He also serves on the board of the AT&T Performing Arts Center. Alyssa, who earned her bachelor’s degree in history and English from Washington University in St. Louis and a PhD in history from the University of Michigan, is a Pre- Health Advisor and Success Coach at Southern Methodist University (SMU).
