Social Media Policy

Carefully read the Frenchman’s Creek Computer, Internet and Email policy and Frenchman’s Creek Harassment/Discrimination policies in the Employee Handbook to ensure your postings are consistent with these policies. Inappropriate postings that may include discriminatory remarks, harassment, and threats of violence or similar inappropriate or unlawful conduct will not be tolerated and may subject you to disciplinary action up to and including termination. Inappropriate postings may also be perceived as complaints or criticism, or the use of statements, photographs, videos or audio that reasonably could be viewed as malicious, obscene, threatening, or intimidating, that may disparage members, their families and guests, other employees, vendors or others who perform work on behalf of Frenchman’s Creek, might constitute harassment, discrimination or bullying. Examples of such conduct might include offensive posts which are meant to intentionally harm someone’s reputation or posts that could contribute to a hostile work environment based on an individual’s protected status can result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Valentine's Day has evolved over time, with its origins traced back to the ancient Roman festival of Lupercalia, which celebrated spring and fertility. As Christianity spread, the festival was outlawed by Pope Gelasius I in the 5th century, and St. Valentine’s Day emerged, possibly to replace it. St. Valentine’s true identity is unclear, with several legends. One story suggests he was a Roman priest who secretly married soldiers, despite Emperor Claudius II’s belief that unmarried men made better soldiers. When his actions were discovered, Valentine was arrested and executed. Another version says he healed a jailer's blind daughter and wrote her a note, signed "From your Valentine," before his execution. The lack of historical records leaves his true story a mystery. The day was originally about honoring him, but by the 14th century, poet Geoffrey Chaucer linked it to romantic love, marking the start of the holiday’s modern association with romance. Valentine's Day traditions, like exchanging cards, grew from the European custom of giving handmade friendship cards in the 17th century. Over time, with advancements in printing, it became a commercial industry. Today, millions of valentines are sold each year. In addition to Valentine's Day, the modern tradition of "Galentine's Day" on February 13, popularized by the TV show “Parks and Recreation,” celebrates friendship. While Valentine's Day is widely celebrated globally, it is no longer an official holiday, and it can be a day of romantic love, friendship, or simply an occasion to show appreciation to loved ones in any form (Milbrand, 2025).

It's time for the annual review process!

Starting February 3, 2025, you can begin completing your Self-Evaluation. It is due no later than February 17, 2025. (please note: AIT & H2B employees are excluded from this process). Eligibility: If you were hired in a full-time position before December 31, 2024, you are eligible to complete your assessment (please note: AIT & H2B employees are excluded from this process). This Performance Review Process allows you to rate yourself as you reflect on feedback, assess your progress, highlight your achievements and contributions, and identify specific areas for improvement in the Self-Evaluation. (please note: it is best to complete this review on a laptop or desktop).

Important: Your manager cannot complete their assessment until you have submitted your Self-Evaluation.

You can access your review in ADP.
