A Vietnam Memorial Wall replica will soon be placed at Lithia & Driveway Fields. The wall is currently being stored at Knife River Construction, who is the contractor on the project. It will be the only permanent wall west of the Mississippi and remain in Medford, according to Ron Kohl, president of the SOVB Vietnam Memorial Wall. The 8’ x 360’ wall will be an 80% replica of the original in Washington D.C., and will display the names of all 58,479 veterans. When visitors arrive at the local Vietnam Memorial Wall, there will be a kiosk system to locate names. Or,
they may go to www.vvmf.org to find a specific name. Two short walls will stand at the entrance for plaques and in recognition of those who have made donations. Additionally, there will be a Purple Heart placed at the base of the wall and a time capsule buried nearby on the property.
