What the manufacturer says about causes for motor failure: We can say that there are three causes for warranty failure: 1. Motor with abnormal amperage. This must be true from the very beginning (not as consequence of another damage) 2. Motor with wrong axial alignment (rotor touching the stator) 3. Shortcut due to some contact in the winding.

A s we test every motor before delivery, we can exclude the first two causes. If there is a problem of manufacturing, we will find it during the test. A shortcut can happen, may be a burr not seen that goes to touch after few days...But anyway I must say that I don't remember a warranty case for this since very long time. A shortcut can also happen if the users while assembling and wiring the motor leave something inside. (May be a washer dropped in the winding) Anyway we know that motors burn, the cause is 99,9% the overload caused by too high power demanded (too many bar) or the bad maintenance (often the failure of the pump's bearing). All our motors are equipped with thermic protection, so the first question is: was the thermic protection connected? Why it didn't save the motor? Before burning a motor is hot, and the thermic must always save them, whatever the cause is. Even for a mechanical problem, let say the bearing damaged, the motor slowly get misaligned and the amperage rise gradually. The thermic must stop when temperature is over 150°C and you can investigate the cause of the problem and change the bearing.
