The Humanitarian Award The Kappa Alpha Psi® Humanitarian Award, created in 1976 without regard to membership, is a testament to the Fraternity’s commitment to service and its recognition of individuals who embody its values of service, leadership, and unity. The Fraternity presents the honor to individuals who have made significant contributions to benevolent efforts, such as supporting the underserved, promoting social justice, or advocating for equality, and have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to service. Conferment of this award occurs every two years during the Fraternity’s Grand Chapter Public Meeting.
