CHAPTER NEWS CENTENNIAL
Brother Andre Dickens, Mayor of Atlanta issues an Atlanta Alumni Day Proclamation on behalf of the City of Atlanta.
Brother Kevin Booker, Vice President of Morehouse College was one of the keynote speakers at a memorial held on its campus.

and served as a general conclave chairman. Four Fraternity’s Founders, Byron K. Armstrong, John M. Lee, Ezra D. Alexander, and Edward G. Irvin, attended this meeting. Famed music prodigy and band leader Graham Jackson (Pi 1927) provided music throughout the sessions and Piney Woods School Founder and President Dr. Lawrence C. Jones (Gamma 1914) served as the Conclave Closed Banquet Keynote Speaker. Since that time, Atlanta Alumni has hosted two additional Conclaves–the 63rd (1980) and the 74th (1999) Grand Chapter Meetings. The AAC also hosted the 12th National Found- ers Day Celebration in 2017. CENTENNIAL KICK-OFF Atlanta Alumni Chapter celebrated its centennial anniversary with a series of events. As a prelude to the anniversary, the chapter hosted an elegant holiday social event at the luxurious Bentley Atlanta. Brothers were joined by their Silhouettes and significant others, who

Gentry (administrator, Pi 1921, 1st Strate- gus), M. Graham (insurance auditor, Delta 1918, 1st Lt. Strategus), John R. Pinkett, Sr. (insurance director, Pi Chapter), and George D. Wilson (college professor, Alpha 1918). Since its chartering 100 years ago, the AAC has served as a shining
example of what committed Kappa men can do. They are extremely active in the community, from their award-winning Guide Right Program to their Health and Wellness Fairs. The AAC consistently provides wrap- around services to the city of Atlanta and beyond. The Atlanta Alumni Chapter was the first chapter in the South to host a Conclave. The 46th Grand Chapter Meeting was held in Atlanta from December 27-29, 1956, and purport- edly served as a blueprint for the Grand Chapter meetings for several years. Q.V.
