God has taken Marlene through many times of loss, pain and grief as well as disappointments and heartaches. Her desire for this book is that as she shares what God has done in her life, it will be an encouragement and help to those experiencing similar situations. John 10:10 continues to be her theme verse, as it was in her devotionals, "The thief comes to steal, to kill and destroy; I am come that you might have life; and that you might have it more abundantly." Satan is always trying to destroy our relationship with our Lord, but Jesus is greater than he and Jesus is the one who can help us "break through any cloud" that may be surrounding us and give us that abundant life that he wants us to live.

Marlene Burling is a widow. She was a pastor’s wife, married for 51 years, has 3 children, 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Besides “Breaking Through the Clouds, she has written “Grandma, Tell Me the Easter Story,” two 365-day devotionals: “A Morning Walk with God,” and “Daily Walks with God.”
She writes a weekly blog on Monday mornings on her website (marleneburling.com) and on face book.
She has developed a workshop for widows, “There’s Life after Loss,” and is co- leader of “Grief Share,” at her church, Grace Baptist Church, in Batavia NY.
