Silver linden is a striking tree native to Southeastern Europe and Western Asia. Its two-tone leaves are glossy green above and softly silver beneath, creating a shimmering effect as they move in the breeze. In June and July, clusters of pale yellow, fragrant flowers attract abundant pollinators, followed by small nutlets that mature in late summer. The tree grows at a medium rate, typically adding 1–2 feet per year, and develops an upright, orderly branching pattern with a dense canopy. Well-suited to parks, large lawns, and urban streets, silver linden is valued for both its beauty and its historical associations with love and truth.
