A ddition a lly , we include species th a t , due to clim a te ch a nge a nd other ecologic a l shifts , m a y no longer grow n a tur a lly in O regon but a re well - suited for a ssisted migr a tion , such a s co a st a l redwoods ( S equoi a sempervirens , pictured a bove ). O ur a ppro a ch recognizes the a d a pt a bility a nd diversity of pl a nts in this unique region a nd incorpor a tes both endemic species , such a s O regon white o a k ( Q uercus g a rry a n a ) a nd Pa cific m a drone ( A rbutus menziesii ), a nd species whose reintroduction could restore historic a l forest dyn a mics a nd improve clim a te resilience .
