Offering choices in modality and length of program time would allow the College to meet the learners where they are and provide more options for place-bound program participants. List of proposed program learning outcomes: The proposed program learning outcomes were developed based on a combination of industry/employer feedback, secondary research, and faculty inputs. An extensive focus group discussion with local employers that included CWU alums and non-alums (Representative companies included PSE, Amazon, Providence, etc. and CEPS/CB faculty as well as integrating secondary research sources such as the 2023 GMAC corporate recruiter’s survey with local employers revealed basic (communication, data analytics, leadership), professional (functional and interfunctional knowledge, adaptability and change) and excitmentcompetencies (e.g. executive presence) among MBA graduates. Program learning outcomes were vetted in various college committees such as the College curriculum committee as well as in a college-wide faculty meeting, and was presented to the College of Business Advisory Board in spring 2024. Below is the list of proposed MBA program learning outcomes: CWU MBA grads will be able to… - Create sustainable solutions for complex problems in a dynamic business environment - Build analytical frameworks for data-driven decisions - Cultivate socially responsible leadership skills - Enhance effective communication skills For new degree programs, provide a compelling rationale explaining how the proposed subject areas constitute a coherent, integrated degree program that has potential value to students and meets CWU and NWCCU requirements for an academic program at the undergraduate or graduate level: The proposed MBA degree program is meticulously designed to offer a cohesive, integrated curriculum that meets the rigorous academic standards set by CWU and NWCCU (2020). In particular, the MBA program is aligned with CWU’s and CB’s mission (1.A.1), keeping with the expectation of the business discipline and profession, and the curriculum sufficiently differentiates the MBA from our undergraduate programs in business administration and related disciplines (1.C.9). Specifically, the MBA degree provides substantial value to students preparing for success in the dynamic landscape of modern business: 1. Systems Thinking: The core of the program establishes a systems thinking framework that prepares students to navigate complex business and societal challenges through an interfunctional lens and with ethical integrity in a dynamic business environment.
