OPENING CAMPFIRE 15 MIN Welcome campers and greet them by name. Introduce the focus strength and prepare the group for the day’s lesson. Campers, what do you think it means to feel confident? Explain that confidence is being sure of ourselves and our abilities. Think about something you’d like to be good at. What can you do to feel more confident about your ability? Give campers time to discuss, then invite volunteers to share their ideas as you capture them on the Strengths Board or a large piece of paper. Suggest that practice helps us feel confident. Encouragement from others helps, too. Campers, think about how we can feel more confident at LitCamp. Don’t forget to encourage each other and notice each other’s accomplishments! Wrap up with a song or the LitCamp cheer.
