LitCamp Reimagined! | Grade 3 Leader Guide Green Bunk

READING POWER 20 MIN Word-Reading Skills in Action Campers will play a game to apply the skill reviewed in the previous lesson.

Picture the Plurals Objective Identify irregular plurals.

Get Ready to Play Print and cut out a set of Irregular Plurals Cards for each pair of players. Divide the group into pairs. Give each pair a set of the 16 Irregular Plurals Cards, several pieces of paper, and a pencil for drawing pictures and keeping score. Goal Score points by drawing pictures as clues for the singular and plural forms of irregular nouns. How to Play the Game 1. The leader says “Go,” and sets the timer for one minute. 2. The first player in each pair chooses a Word Card without letting the other player see it, then draws a picture to illustrate, or show, the singular noun on the card. 3. In the remaining time, other players have to write both the singular and plural noun forms to match the picture. Those players score one point if they correctly name the singular and plural noun forms. 4. Players switch roles and play continues. 5. After five minutes, or five rounds, players add up their points. The player in each pair with more points wins the game.
