Say: Today, we are going to read a book called Who Would Win? Blue Whale vs. Mosquito. What do you notice about the cover and the title? Invite volunteers to share their ideas. Read the questions on the back cover aloud. Say: What do you think would happen if a blue whale and mosquito met each other and had a fight? Who would win? Why? Give campers a moment to discuss with a partner, then invite several pairs of campers to share their thinking with the group. Say: This book will give us a lot of information by comparing blue whales and mosquitoes. By the time we finish reading, we will know more about both animals, and we can think again about how we would answer the questions on the back cover.
