Building Bridges Here are some suggestions for how you can further strengthen the connection between LitCamp and the home: • Encourage campers to share what happens at LitCamp with their families, from new discoveries to their proudest accomplishments. • Remind campers to practice the 7 Strengths at home. Reading aloud with someone fosters friendship and belonging. Helping with chores (especially without being asked) demonstrates kindness and builds confidence. Asking questions and listening attentively shows curiosity. Sharing dreams and goals for the future expresses courage and hope. • Provide opportunities for campers to share special family or cultural traditions, celebrations, and stories at LitCamp. • Let families know the best ways to communicate with you if they have questions, concerns, or ideas they want to share. Be sure to ask about the best way for you to contact them.
