OPENING CAMPFIRE 15 MIN Welcome campers and greet them by name. Introduce the focus strength and prepare the group for the day’s lesson. Campers, let’s talk about friendship. What does it mean to have and be a friend? Open the discussion to the group. Then ask, What qualities are important in a friend? Clarify that qualities include things like being trustworthy and kind, or having a sense of humor or similar interests. Capture campers’ ideas on your Strengths Board. Today, we are going to read about a very special friendship. We are going to find out how
circumstances or events can bring friends together! Let’s be good friends to others at LitCamp and at home. Wrap up with a song or the LitCamp cheer.
