Boaz watched Ruth as she gathered handfuls of grain. He told his men to let some grain fall, just for her. He asked her to eat with the reapers at mealtime and to drink from their sup ply of water when she was thirsty. One reason that Boaz was kind to Ruth was that Ruth had been so good/to Naomi. But there is Some One who is even more kind than Boaz ever could* be. Our Memory Verse says, “The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.” The Lord Jesus loves us when we can not do anything good at all—loves us enough to die for us. Ruth thanked Boaz for his goodness to her. Let us be like her, and thank the heavenly Father for His great kindness to us. Object Lesson How t o B e H o l y OBJECTS: A capital “ I” and a capi tal “U” made of white paper. (The “ U” is 11 inches wide and 8% inches high. bottom bars 4 inches wide and 1 inch high. Fold down 2% inches from the top. Make another fold 4-11/16 inches from the bottom. Thus the two bars will come together, making a cross. Unfold both letters before the lesson begins. Color the front of each black.) LESSON: I brought a “U” and an “ I” with me this morning in order that they might represent us. Did you know that the Bible commands us to be holy? “ Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy; for I the LORD your God am holy” (Lev. 19:2). This black “U” and “ I” look sinful instead of holy, but when God gives a command, there is always a way pro vided in order that the command may be obeyed. In ourselves we could never be holy, but in Christ we can. As I fold these letters, you see that they both make a cross. As such ¡they fit each other per fectly. If we desire to be holy in the sight of God, we should humble ourselves, accept Christ as our personal Saviour, and then, when God looks at us He w ill not see our old sinful selves. He w ill see His Son, Jesus Christ. LE$SON TEX T : Num. 10:11, 12, 29-36. GOLDEN TEX T: “ Còme thou with us, and we will do thee good” (Num. 10:29). DEVOTIONAL READING: Psa. 122. By the cloud, the Lord would guide them daily until they came to the promised land. There was a definite time and direction for them to travel, and the cloud controlled both these matters. They were wholly dependent upon the cloud, not even’Moses know ing when or how to move, apart from
