Srila Prabhupada On Mayapur

come to India to teach them how to develop industries, railway and other modern activities in politics, sociology and even in religion by spreading Christianity. Now the Western people have to take the lead- ership of spreading Vedic culture all over the the world. I have given the initiation, but the rest of the work will depend on you young men and women of America. Kindly organize things in that spirit and be blessed by Çré Caitanya Mahäprabhu and through Him by Lord Kåñëa. 8/2/77 MÄYÄPUR – LECTURE, DISAPPEARANCE DAY of HIS DIVINE GRACE ÇRÉLA BHAKTISIDDHÄNTA SARASVATÉ GOSVÄMÉ PRABHUPÄDA This Mäyäpur is meant for this purpose, to spread Kåñëa conscious- ness movement all over the world as it was desired by Caitanya Mahäprabhu. Påthivéte äche yata nagarädi gräma sarvatra pracära. So the beginning is there. We are preaching all over the world and you, my dear friends from Europe and America, you have taken this Kåñëa consciousness movement. Again I shall repeat the same logic. Andha-paìgu-nyäya . And- ha means blind and paìgu means lame. Both of them are useless. Andha cannot see, he cannot walk, and the lame man cannot walk. Andha can walk but cannot see. And the lame man can see but can- not walk. Now let them both combine together. So the whole world is suffering for want of Kåñëa consciousness or spiritual life. If American money and Indian culture mix together, the whole world will be ben- efited. That is my ambition. 18/1/76 MÄYÄPUR – A TRANSCENDENTAL DIARY VOL. 1 From there he inspected the kitchen area, a separate building with accommodations for householders on the upper floor. He was not pleased to see dirt on the steps. He said they looked as if they had not been cleaned “for three hundred years,” and he demanded to know why. When told the place was cleaned every night, he retorted, “What is the use of such cleaning, if it is dirty the next morning?” One of the managers said it was difficult to get the devotees to clean in the early morning because they all wanted to complete their japa.
