6/1/74 LOS ANGELES – JAYAPATÄKÄ and BHAVÄNANDA MAHÄRÄJAS My only desire is that our temple must be a living temple by chanting Hare Kåñëa Mantra and distributing prasädam as well as distributing books to the intelligent class of men….I am glad hundreds of visitors are coming by our songs. You are already working hard there now work harder and Kåñëa will give you all facilities. My full blessings, with Kåñëa’s consent, are upon you all. Hope this meets you in good health. 24/10/74 MÄYÄPUR – UTTAMAÇLOKA DÄSA Just like here at Mäyäpur, because we have this very nice house, people are coming to visit and stay. They attend the aratis and listen to my lec-
tures, and take prasädam. If we did not have this house, then they would not come. So this is the meaning of a temple. There must always be ac- tivity. Not that we have a nice house for comfortable living. We simply want to bring people back home, Back to Godhead. That is the purpose of our temples, of our books, and our festi- vals, and preachings. 13/3/76 MÄYÄPUR – A TRANSCENDENTAL DIARY VOL. 1 Many devotees, led by Jayapatäkä Mahäräja, went out on parikramä very early in the morning to avoid the heat of the day. But they ended up re- turning after the start of Çréla Prabh- upäda’s lecture, and he was not at all pleased with this. He said that the morning program of hearing Çrémad-Bhägavatam is more important, and so there should be no more early parikramäs.
