CAITANYA-CARITÄMÅTA MADHYA-LÉLÄ 25.183 PURPORT Following in the footsteps of Çré Caitanya Mahäprabhu, we have con- structed temples in both Våndävana and Mäyäpur, Navadvépa, just to give shelter to the foreign devotees coming from Europe and Amer- ica. Since the Hare Kåñëa movement started, many Europeans and Americans have been visiting Våndävana, but they have not been properly received by any äçrama or temple there. It is the purpose of the International Society for Kåñëa Consciousness to give them shel- ter and train them in devotional service. There are also many tourists eager to come to India to understand India’s spiritual life, and the devotees in our temples both in Våndävana and in Navadvépa should make arrangements to accommodate them as far as possible. 29/9/75 AHMEDABAD – MORNING WALK Jayapatäkä: ...Çréla Prabhupäda, the deputy director of tourism of the government of West Bengal came out to visit Mäyäpur. He said that many people have been wanting to see Mäyäpur and Navadvipa. And the nearest guesthouse they have is Berhampur. They have a guest house at Berhampur. So they wanted to know the possibility if a bus of twenty-four people could use our guesthouse. They offered thirty rupees a night per room and said that normally they pay six rupees per meal. They wouldn’t smoke or break any rules while they go in the building. Prabhupäda: That’s nice. Let them come. So in one room, one per- son? Jayapatäkä: Two people. Double room. Prabhupäda: Thirty-two rupees? Jayapatäkä: Thirty rupees. Prabhupäda: Thirty rupees. And meals? Jayapatäkä: Six rupees a meal they are accustomed to pay. Prabhupäda: That’s very nice. Jayapatäkä: Either rice, dahl, and... Prabhupäda: Capati.
