Fred Krausert, the Veteran’s National Secre- tary, attend the WA Branch Stop Work Meet- ing in September. It was shout out for all WA Veteran’s, Life members, and Associate members to attend in an effort to revamp the Fremantle Veteran’s Association. Fred’s agenda primarily aimed at enlighten- ing our retired members about the vital role Veterans can play in tackling the challenges arising from the current cost of living crisis that’s impacting our community.
The Fremantle Veteran’s Committee is now established:
WA Branch Life Members Christmas Party The WA Branch Life Members Christmas Party in early December was an absolute blast, bringing to- gether our vibrant MUA Life Members and Veterans. This event is more than just a party; it’s a heartfelt nod to our Life Members and Veterans who have played a pivotal role in shaping the foundation of our union, and their invaluable contributions should forever be etched in our collective memory. Their struggles and unwavering commitment set the stage for the benefits enjoyed by our members today. They battled for our rights, crafting the foundation that supports the wages and conditions that we cherish in our industry today. Honouring their contributions is not just about honouring the past; it’s about acknowledging the re- silience and determination that have threaded through the history of our union, instilling a sense of gratitude and respect for their enduring commitment. It’s awesome to witness these old friends reunite, sharing stories, laughter, and a drink or two, reminisc- ing about days gone by. The camaraderie and warmth that filled the air as they recounted stories of yesteryears added to the overall spirit of the gathering, painting a vivid picture of shared history and enduring friendships.
