Department Initiatives Officer Honored by the State of Texas

Officer David Barnett III was honored by the State of Texas House of Representatives on November 29, 2021 for his actions of saving the life of a Fort Worth resident on October 17, 2020. The State of Texas House of Representatives recognized Officer Barnett III ’ s great compas- sion, composure, and professionalism in responding to the emergency. Thank you Officer Barnett III for your continuous service to the Fort Worth community.

Class 150 Graduation

Congratulations to the graduates of Recruit Class 150 for a job well done. On December 17, Recruit Class 150 graduated from the FWPD Academy, putting 47 new officers on the streets of Fort Worth. The recruits have been assigned to patrol divisions to begin phase one of their field training.

National Night Out

On October 5, the City of Fort Worth participated in National Night Out. National Night Out is an annual community - building campaign that promotes police - community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer and more caring places to live. Over 120 events were held citywide. Neighborhood Police Officers (NPOs) attended events within their neighborhoods along with other City departments includ- ing Code Compliance and the Fire Department.

Citizens Police Academy 57 Graduation Congratulations to the 16 Citizens Police Academy (CPA) participants who graduated from the Citi- zens Police Academy. CPA is a twelve - week class where participants attended weekly three - hour trainings from police officers and investigators who presented and explained their roles within the City of Fort Worth and the Police Department. The goal of the CPA is to provide information and to establish long - term relationships with citizens of Fort Worth. To find out how to get involved click here.
