Did you know that stroke is one of the leading causes of serious long-term disability? Recognizing the signs of a stroke and responding promptly can save lives. Remember F.A.S.T. : Face Drooping : Is one side of the face drooping or numb? Ask the person to smile. Arm Weakness : Is one arm weak or numb? Ask the person to raise both arms. Speech Difficulty : Is speech slurred or difficult to understand? Ask the person to repeat a simple sentence. Time to Call 911 : If any of these symptoms are present, call 911 immediately. VerdeCares is committed to supporting stroke survivors and their families. We offer personalized care plans to assist you from the hospital to rehabilitation and eventually home. We can begin by ensuring you have the necessary Fire District emergency lock box and documents for the Lifeline program. This enables our first responders to reach you swiftly with appropriate treatment when every minute is crucial. NATIONAL STROKE AWARENESS Strokes can happen to anyone at any age. Having a stroke puts you at higher risk for a second one. Learn the signs.
