THE NEW SITE’S BUILDING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ADJUSTS LIGHTING, HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING TO SUIT THE NUMBER OF OCCUPANTS AND CREATE A HEALTHY INDOOR ENVIRONMENT… Schneider Electric Ireland relocates to low-carbon Dublin offices

Schneider Electric, a leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, has relocated its corporate headquarters in Ireland from Maynooth, Co Kildare to a new low-carbon site in Citywest, Dublin. Fully powered by electric, in line with its global policy to reduce dependency on fossil fuels, the new HQ uses smart digital monitoring tools to control temperature and lighting in the office based on occupancy. A network of integrated sensors collect data, which is fed into a building management system (BMS) controlling

lighting, heating and air conditioning. Using data and analytics, the BMS adjusts energy use for temperature and lighting to suit the number of occupants and create a healthy indoor environment. The hybrid office workspace has capacity for 70-plus occupants and includes 32 separate workstations, meeting rooms and the latest digital conferencing facilities.

It will demonstrate how organisations can prioritise energy efficiency and reduce their carbon footprint.” First Floor, Unit 3018, Lake Drive, Citywest Business Campus, Naas Road, Dublin D24 TY81 T: +353 (0)1 80080 5800. www.se.com L-R: Thomas Stone, South Dublin Chamber, Rhonda Doyle and Chris Collins, Schneider Electric, Alan Edge, Mayor of South Dublin County Council, Vincent Guérend, Ambassador of France to Ireland, Cliodhna O’Byrne, South Dublin Chamber, and Colm Ward, South Dublin County Council. “Our integrated solutions have enabled us to deliver a comfortable and energy-efficient working environment for our staff.”

A digital desk booking system is integrated directly with the BMS to update the number of occupants in the building. The Citywest location places Schneider Electric closer to its corporate customers, and the company will use the site to showcase its products and solutions. Schneider Electric has installed its own Energy Management Solutions at the Citywest site to ensure the workspace is more sustainable, efficient and people centric. Its EcoStruxure Power Monitoring Expert solution provides visibility of the site’s electrical systems and energy consumption to help make informed decisions to improve the building’s performance.

The office is also equipped with a smart building security system supported by the EcoStruxure Security Expert solution. It’s also part of an integrated network that connects the Citywest site to Schneider Electric’s larger facility in Galway. Chris Collins, Country President Ireland, Schneider Electric, said; “Expectations of buildings today have changed. They need to be smarter and more sustainable. Our integrated solutions have enabled us to deliver a comfortable and energy-efficient working environment for our staff. “The location appealed to us because it allows us to maintain our commitment to sustainability and inhabit all-electric
