Judges praised MCK Electrical as a dynamic business with an experienced trade counter team offering excellent service. From gaining certification to a global quality management standard to investing in its delivery fleet, the firm is always moving forward. Operating from a 20,000sqft warehouse just outside Cork city centre, the company has a dedicated team of experienced staff on hand to service every need of the industry. Its well-known trade counter team has a combined experience of over 100 years, and the company prides itself in supplying quality products and an excellent service. This includes an in- house consultancy service, lighting design for both domestic and commercial projects, site visits, design ideas and energy- saving surveys. Looking ahead, MCK Electrical has hired a sales rep to go on the road, adding another successful string to its bow. Additional marketing campaigns are on the horizon, as well as supporting more charities throughout this year. The firm hopes to offer an even wider range of products this year including solar panels and accessories along with expanding its stock profile across all product categories. The judges praised the credible testimonials supplied as part of MCK Electrical’s entry form, highlighting the excellent working relationships established with suppliers.
A raft of excellent testimonials and fantastic customer service credentials swayed the judging panel in awarding Eastern Electrical with the coveted title of Wholesaler of the Year - Single Branch. A customer service level well above the industry average has driven strong sales growth for this branch, alongside a 24/7 call-and-collect facility unique to Cork. In 2008, with a staff of eight people, the branch was acquired by EWL Electrical Group and along with this acquisition came a favourable change in culture, allowing each EWL business to be autonomous independent profit centres. The branch understands the importance of its local community and is proud to be a sponsor of Cobh Ramblers FC and Leeside Ladies Soccer team. Staff members undergo regular inhouse training, keeping them fully abreast of current trends and equipping them with the confidence to provide solutions to customer needs. The Little Island branch of Eastern Electrical always tries to lead the way with regard to innovative products, and prides itself on staying in touch with current events and within the industry. It has invested in a wide range of energy-saving products and solutions to cater for all its customers’ needs.
