A unanimous winner among the judges, Brian Healy Electrical completed an integrated scope of electrical and mechanical works on this €3.5m project. A retrofit of an abandoned Celtic Tiger shopping centre, the challenging project required innovative thinking such as installation of a ceiling anchor toggle for containment bracketry. Revit and 3D modelling were used to determine desk layouts and ensure a clean job, with the site set to house 900 students and electrical apprentices The team installed MV Traffo and Ring Main, over 25 main and sub boards, containment, power, general services, lighting, lightning protection, and security and protective services.

O’Hara Harrison received the accolade of highly commended for its electrical fit-out at Ballyshannon Community Hospital, Donegal. This project stood out to the panel of judges for its innovative use of containment to tackle electrical challenges while saving time and money for the client. Featuring upgrades to a protected building and a new three-storey extension, this €36.7m project was complex. The new community hospital with over 70 beds is built on the site of the old Sheil Hospital. It provides convalescence, rehabilitation, respite and palliative care as well as a day hospital service.
