tion, many of the contests being rematches against teams which had beaten them earlier in the season, such as KCS Wimbledon. The A and B teams were strong across the season and they were led brilliantly by experienced players like Eddie King, Joshua Jelbert, Sam Count and Zachary McQuoid. They were boosted by the athleticism and rapid progress of Ayub Khodja and Naasei Asabere, who rose through the teams to represent the 12As for most of the season. The Year 8s had a similar experience, putting in consistent performances all season under the leadership of Jonny Beacon, Harry Davison and all-round forwards Nate Doig and Henry Christakis. Mason Ifidon, Seth Hungbo and Ashton Lv made late charges to force themselves into the A team and become some of the most dynamic ball carri- ers and tacklers in the side. In the final matches of the season, nine of the Lower School teams competed against Dulwich Prep London for the inaugural Leake Cup. This new trophy is in honour of WRM Leake who was a Dulwich College student and teacher and DPL’s third headmaster. On the rugby field Mr Leake played for Harlequins and England, and was a founding member of the Barbarians. It is a privilege to honour him with this competition. The DC boys played brilliantly in mudbath conditions to win the cup against strong opposition. The games were played with competitive spirit and sportsmanship against our close rivals and friends, and Dr Spence was present to award the trophy to 13A captain and fly half Aiden Smyth. RESULTS:

MIDDLE SCHOOL The 14A team made brilliant progress across the sea- son and their last three games were all decided by just one score. A home victory against Eton College was the highlight, with number eight Hector Saloustros scoring a superb try in his first season at DC. The team was led maturely by captain George Gooderham, who was sup- ported ably by Santi Jackson, Max Count, Noah O’Leary and Kit Cunliffe.
The 14Bs put in one of the performances of the season to edge past a strong St Paul’s team 20–19. Athletic forwards Frank Adom, Jose Wright, Milo Jones and Will Shoben set a strong platform all season, and halfbacks Arun Slatter and Freddie Jerman pulled the strings behind them with guile and skill.
