During her tenure at Dulwich College from 2020 to January 2023, Yem was a key pillar of the Geography Department. She was diligent and positive, and she con- tributed widely to both the academic and co-curricular life of the school. Yem’s commitment to academic excellence and student welfare was evident in her role as a Lower School tutor, well respected by all

and culinary talents uplifted spirits within the College community. Her delicious baked treats not only satisfied cravings but also served as a symbol of camaraderie and positivity, keeping morale high for her team. Yem always found time to support and listen to her peers. Her contagious smile and strong moral compass were clear to everyone who had the pleasure of working with her, and her genuine care for the wellbeing of her students will be missed. It was a pleasure working with Yem, and we wish her all the best for her next chapter. ◉

As the leader of the Lower School Geogra- phy Society, GeoExplorers, she ignited her students’ passion for cultures and places. Within the department, she showcased her creativity by developing a nationally pioneering scheme of work on ‘The Geography of Em- pire’, offering a new and important lens for decolonising geopolitical landscapes. Outside of the classroom, Yem played a pivotal role in community engagement by assisting in the coordination of Community Action at Belair Park, which reflected her dedication to social responsibility. Always keen to assist the department, she accompanied students on various Geography field trips to destinations such as Lanzarote, Stratford and Brighton, enriching their educational expe- riences.
