Quantifying Garland UK's GHG Emissions
This consistency matters, but so does knowing where the gaps are. Looking ahead, we've identified opportunities to strengthen our data further, including a fuller screening of Scope 3 categories and more complete capture of goods and services purchased within the reporting year. Getting this right may mean revisiting our baseline in future, a trade- off we're comfortable with in exchange for a more accurate picture.
Our approach to measuring carbon stays consistent year to year, so our progress is genuinely comparable. We calculate our footprint in line with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, using an operational control approach that consolidates emissions data across the whole business. Activity data is logged in our Sustainability Tool, with emission factors drawn from DESNZ/DEFRA 2025, the BATH ICE Database (2019), and product-specific Environmental Product Declarations where available.
