Resource Efficiency & Waste in 2025
Three warehouse clear-outs, in February, June and July, removed a significant volume of dead stock from our site. This was necessary housekeeping, but it also meant a noticeably higher volume of waste moving through our system this year than usual.
Garland UK changed waste provider partway through the year, moving from Grundon's Energy from Waste scheme to Veolia in October 2025. Both partners divert waste from landfill, but the switch changed how our waste is categorised: from January to September, waste was recorded simply as general or mixed recyclable, while from October onwards, Veolia's reporting splits this further into non-hazardous industrial, mixed recyclate, and food waste.
