“Everyone’s accounted for,” Daisy reported. “The chickens and ducks are all huddled together in their coops.”
As they worked, the wind continued to howl, creating challenges at every turn.
At one point, a large branch broke off a tree and landed in the middle of the pasture. Thunder and Buck worked together to move it out of the way, their combined strength making quick work of the obstacle.
“We’re a great team,” Thunder said, smiling at Buck.
“Absolutely,” Buck agreed. “We can handle anything as long as we stick together.”
Their final task was to secure the farmhouse.
Farmer Jenkins had already started boarding up the windows, and the horses helped by bringing over extra boards and nails. Daisy and Star gathered up fallen branches and debris, making sure the yard was clear.
Once everything was secure, Farmer Jenkins gathered the horses. “You’ve all done an incredible job,” he said, his voice full of gratitude. “The farm is safe thanks to your hard work and teamwork.”
As the wind continued to blow, the horses returned to the barn for some well- deserved rest.
They settled down in the cozy warmth, feeling proud of their efforts.
“That was a real challenge,” Daisy said, snuggling into the straw. “But we did it.”
