The trail led them across the farmyard, past the chicken coop and the pigsty. They paused at the duck pond, where the trail seemed to disappear. Buck furrowed his brow, deep in thought.
"Maybe the ducks saw something," Daisy suggested, trotting over to the pond.
Quackers, the head duck, waddled over, looking rather pleased with himself. "Good morning, friends! What brings you here?"
"We're on the trail of a carrot thief," Buck explained. "Have you seen anything suspicious?"
Quackers tilted his head and thought for a moment. "Well, I did see some rabbits running toward the garden last night. They were carrying something orange, but I didn't get a good look."
"Thanks, Quackers!" Buck said, and the horses hurried toward the garden.
As they approached the garden, they heard a soft munching sound. Peeking through the bushes, they spotted a group of rabbits feasting on the carrots. Their leader, a plump rabbit named Thumper, was chewing happily on a particularly large carrot.
"Aha! We've found our culprits," Buck whispered to the others. "But how do we get the carrots back?"
Star smirked. "Leave it to me. I have a plan."
Star trotted confidently into the garden, her head held high. "Good morning, rabbits! Enjoying those carrots, are we?"
