London, Water & Air

THURSDAY 23RD – SATURDAY 25TH MARCH

£375pp

Easter in Derbyshire

All the key elements are included in this brand-new tour of London: We start on the water with an evening cruise, then follow it up with spectacular views from the air at The Shard before returning to earth and exploring London’s Transport Museum. Day 1 We arrive at our hotel with time to settle in and relax and perhaps have a wander locally to get acquainted with the surroundings, before we head to Tower Pier for a 2-hour evening cruise on the Thames. We start in fine style with a glass of bubbly or soft drink as we set off on our sightseeing bonanza, during which we will see all the major sites of our capital city, including the London Eye, Westminster, Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. A selection of canapés will be served throughout the evening and there will also be a live performer keeping you entertained with music. (Dress code is smart casual). Day 2 This morning you need a head for heights as we visit The View from The Shard. With access to the indoor viewing platforms on levels 68 and 69 as well as the open-air Skydeck on level 72, we aren’t short of spectacular views across the city and on clear days, way beyond in all directions! London’s tallest skyscraper offers unparalleled vistas and we spend time picking out all the iconic sights we know so well from the ground. Transported smoothly back down to earth, we have time for lunch before heading to the London Transport Museum. Here you can find out about the history of London’s transport system from the last 200 years, with exhibitions, artefacts and stories of the people who have travelled and work in the city. We have free time after our visit and with London at our disposal, perhaps a visit to Covent Garden would tick the box with its unique shopping or perhaps an early evening cocktail. Day 3 After a leisurely breakfast and a little free time we make our way back to East Anglia.

FRIDAY 7TH – MONDAY 10TH APRIL

We are delighted to offer this tour for Easter. From our stylish base near Derby, we feature a host of interesting attractions; Chatsworth House, the National Tramway Museum and some unique villages. Day 1 After collection from home, travel north stopping in Stamford to take a break for lunch, before continuing to our hotel where we will be greeted with tea, coffee and biscuits on arrival. Day 2 Our day begins with a ride to Ashbourne, a fine old market town with a medieval street pattern and a wealth of high-quality shops. This afternoon we visit Chatsworth House, home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, where we enjoy the house and gardens. Day 3 Our day begins with a drive to Derbyshire and the village of Crich. Here we visit the superb National Tramway Museum where the authentic village scene transports you back in time with cobbled streets and the gentle rumble of passing trams. The Tramway Street hosts many period features such as shops, ice cream parlour, tea rooms and more. Catch a lovingly restored tram for a ride down the street and out into the Derbyshire countryside – your ticket includes unlimited rides. Later we visit Bakewell where you have chance to sample the famous ‘Tart’ at the original shop.
