Day 2 This morning we take a short drive to the spa and market town of Knaresborough for a stop to enjoy the scenery and high street. The town hosts many cafes and tearooms, perfect for warming up, or you may enjoy a wander along the riverside. After we return to Harrogate, the rest of the day is free for you to explore at leisure. Enjoy a lovely stroll through beautiful Valley Gardens, explore the delightful Victoria arcades for some retail therapy. Have a relaxing lunch in one of the many restaurants, cafes and bars – maybe even visit the famous ‘Betty’s Tearooms’. Day 3 Our day takes us into the Yorkshire Dales, passing through the pretty village of Pateley Bridge, travelling over the moorland until we arrive at Grassington. We have a chance to enjoy a stop here to enjoy the quaint cobbled market town and perhaps have a hot drink. Afterwards, we head to the market town of Skipton, known as the ‘Gateway to the Dales’. The High Street leads up to the church, behind which you see the impressive 900-year-old castle and Skipton Woods. Today is also market day so you have a chance to grab a bargain or some local goods. Day 4 Our day takes us to the historic cathedral city of York, make the most of the city and enjoy the atmosphere of the Christmas Markets. You can wander past the old shops of the Shambles, a medieval shopping complex or enjoy the shops of Parliament Street. Later this afternoon, we will return to the hotel to enjoy a Cream Tea at the hotel with Tea, Scones, Clotted Cream & Jam – end your week on a sweet note. Day 5 Departing after breakfast, we head for home pausing at Stamford on the way.

At our base in Chippenham we are ideally placed for visits to two contrasting attractions with something to suit everyone.

Day 1 Following a collection from home we head to our hotel in Chippenham, pausing at Oxford on the way. Day 2 Today we head for the delightful city of Wells with its tiny Cathedral. We can explore the town and obtain lunch before we leave for Longleat House and the stunning Festival of Light. Europe’s largest ever display of Chinese lanterns will transform Longleat into a glowing winter wonderland, with thousands of new lanterns. We return to our hotel in for dinner. Day 3 This morning we leave for Bristol and the traditional Christmas Market. Located in the very heart of Bristol City Centre, the Christmas market is home to over 50 unique stalls. This all underneath its glittering Christmas tree, which will be adorned with an array of delightful decorations, and spectacular lights that both welcome and guide you throughout the magical market. There are lots of opportunities for lunch as you explore the city before we leave late afternoon for home.
